Russia: Dmitry Patrushev — new Minister of Agriculture


In Russia, the authorities approved changes to a new Cabinet of Ministers. On April 18, the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, signed executive orders on appointment of the Deputy Prime Ministers and Ministers of the new Government, reported the press-service of the Presidential Executive Office.

Dmitry Patrushev became a new Minister of Agriculture, and changed Alexander Tkachev on this position. Previously, D.Patrushev worked as the Chairman of the Management Board, Member of the Supervisory Board at Rosselkhozbank (Russian Agricultural Bank).

Also, the Government received a new position of the Deputy Prime Minister on agricultural issues. Alexei Gordeyev was appointed to the post. Previously, he worked as the Minister of Agriculture in 1999-2009.

Generally, 9 Deputy Prime Ministers and the First Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister — Anton Siluanov, came to the new Government.

Denis Manturov kept his position of the Minister of Industry and Trade, as well as Maxim Oreshkin — the Minister of Economic Development. Yevgeny Ditrikh was appointed the Minister of Transport. "All these well-known people boast substantial work experience, and they have won a good reputation in their previous spheres of work," said V.Putin.
